Jonell Galloway grew up on Wendell Berry and food from a backyard Kentucky garden. She studied at the Cordon Bleu and La Varenne cooking schools in Paris, and collaborated on the GaultMillau restaurant guide, Around the World with 80 BreadsAndré Raboud, Sculptures 2002-2009Ma Cuisine MéditerranéenneAt the Table: Food and Family around the World with Ken Albala; and numerous other books. She ran a cooking school in France, owned a restaurant in Kentucky, organizes the Taste Unlocked workshops in Chartres, and runs the website The Rambling Epicure. She now lives between France, Switzerland, and Italy.
